Alternative fastener material

The constant improvement of the suitability of the fastener for light weight design applications is a development focus at EJOT. The DELTA PT® ALU, made of high-strength aluminium, is the answer to the constantly increasing demands on the direct assembly of plastic. The basis for this special fastners is the proven DELTA PT® screw with the innovative thread geometry. The DELTA PT® ALU can be an alternative for the commonly used steel screws in many applications. Weight saving potentials can be utilised and the the easy fastening of the plastic parts is also maintained.

 

Ideal application engineering properties

The aluminium alloy 7075, which has been established in the aviation industry since many years, offers a suitable combination of strength and forming properties for the production of self-tapping screws. Especially under high thermal stress of the component, a fastened DELTA PT® ALU can withstand temperatures of up to 150° C, the high-strength material has a positive influence on the clamp load retention due to its favourable coefficient of expansion. A high application safety is thus guaranteed even in extreme conditions.
